Roseville California real estate - click the image for a bigger pictureIn 1864, tracks laid by Central Pacific Railroad crews intersected with the tracks of a smaller railroad line, the California Central, at a spot on a railroad map known simply as "Junction." It was around this junction, that Roseville, then a small freight and passenger center, grew. In 1909, the small town incorporated and began its steady march of progress. Today, Roseville is Placer County's largest city with an estimated population of 103,609 (2004), several medical centers (and three hospitals less than 12 miles away), award-winning schools and beautiful neighborhoods. It's also home to a number of large corporations including Hewlett-Packard, NEC Electronics and SureWest.

In 1964, Roseville celebrated its 100th birthday with a yearlong party of special events. This same year, Roseville also received Look Magazine's prestigious "All American City" award, a tribute to the town's reputation for hospitality and community spirit

No longer "just another railroad town," Roseville provides its residents with everything from fine dining and abundant upscale shopping to award-winning recreational programs (including a world-class aquatic center), history museums and an active arts community. The weather is conducive to outdoor fun too, with summer highs in the 90s and winter lows in the 30s.

Roseville real estate includes quaint, older homes along with new developments for first time and move-up buyers, along with senior and golf communities. For sports enthusiasts, there are plenty of parks - Roseville has one of the highest parks per capita ratios in the nation - along with bike trails, golf courses and a Sports Center. Activities are always going on at the Maidu Interpretive Center, too. Love live theater? Check out the Magic Circle Repertory Theatre.
